Test the headlines!
The number one factor in selling is getting your adverts read!
Whether it's the "above the fold" words on your splash page the
headline on your website homepage, your subject line in your email,
the headline of a Text Ad, or the first words you speak over the phone
in a sales call.
You have milliseconds to grab your potential customers interest
and it's these first few words that do it!
It's the difference between success or failure in any campaign.
So how do you know whichheadlines work?
For the average marketer that hasn't got a huge advertising budget
the answer is actually really simple - You just copy everyone else!
You probably receive hundreds maybe even thousands of emails every day
all trying to sell you their products and these can be farmed and re used
to advertise your own products using other peoples headlines!
The headlines you want to use will leap out at you but don't just rely on
your own personal taste as everyone is different and we all have
different triggers that make us click on a link.
The way I do it is to wite down all the headlines that grab my interest but also
all the ones that I see repeatedly because these would not still be used if they were
not proving effective!
You could then go and buy guaranteed traffic campaigns and test the different
headlines that way, but it would be a very expensive test!
Personally I log into my Hypertracker account and create a campaign url
to go with each headline then use my businessworldlist account to send an email
and test the response to each headline.
This takes time as I can email 80,000 every 2 days but at least I am
using the same target market all the time and when a headline gets a good response
in hypertracker clicks I then know I can use it effectively on my own lists and other
safe lists and paid for advertising.
Headlines are the most critical part of any marketing
campaign - so don't spend money on any advertisement without
first testing the Headline.
